Our comfortable first floor living room, with views over the village onto Loch Carron and the thoughtfully planted front and back gardens, is the perfect space to unwind. During the long summer days, light fills the room; in the winter months, the open fire makes for a cosy and welcoming space. Settle into the tweed sofas or the wing back chairs with your favourite tipple and let the world pass you by, immerse your mind in a book, sit at the writing desk and pen your long dreamed of masterpiece, play a board game on the Victorian games table or try your hand at Mahjong. Alternatively, connect to the Bluetooth speaker and crank up your tunes or switch on the TV and select from numerous on- demand and digital channels. Whatever you chose, settle down and enjoy this beautiful room.

Those who enjoy cooking and a long lazy lunch or dinner, you will be at home on the ground floor.

The ground floor dining room is arranged around a large table and can comfortably seat up to 8, with a sofa, armchair, writing bureau and sideboard. On a cold winter’s night, draw the curtains and light the wood burner to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During the longer days of late spring and summer, the room is cool and the perfect place for your evening meal.

The kitchen is at the back of the house and benefits from an abundance of natural light. Arranged around a long table, which seats 8, you will find a butler’s sink, dishwasher and electric range cooker. The cupboards and dresser are well stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware.

Connected to the kitchen you will find the pantry equipped with a large fridge freezer, with ice maker and chilled water feed, separate wine fridge, butlers sink, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Step outside and enjoy the wonderful gardens. Through the kitchen doors or side entrance door is a terrace space with outdoor table for 8 and charcoal BBQ. For the back garden, wander up the granite steps that connect the higher terraces. Once you reach the second terrace, you are treated to wonderful views of Loch Carron and the mountains beyond. Carry on to the top of the garden and go through the metal gate to access the Brae, a small stone track, from where you can walk past the local crofter’s fields with views across to Skye, Raasay and the Applecross Peninsula.

To access the front garden, cross the street and go through the wooden gates. On the gravel pathway, in the shape of a Celtic Knot, stroll down the garden, find the secret stepping stones through the rhododendrons, check out the small summerhouse or just while away an hour or two sitting by the small pond listening to the world go by.

Whether you want to explore the wilderness on foot, paddle the coastline, take in the history and all that is on offer in the region or just unwind and recharge, Polly’s House provides the perfect base.
